Compaq Presario V3616au

Today, I gonna introduce my 5th wife :D. Hehe...I memang 'hamsap' getting so many wives :P. I think I won't be getting any new 1 in a very long time after this.

Anyway, Tada! My wife Compaq Presario V3616au.
Berkilat-kilat *Blink Blink*

The Specification:
• AMD Turion 64 X 2 Mobile Technology TL-60 (2.0 Ghz)
• 2GB 667 MHz
• 160 GB Hard Disk Drive
• 14.1 " TFF WXGA High Defination Widerscreen LCD Panel with BrightView Technology
• DVD +/- RW Double Layer Drive
• Wireless 802.11 a/b/g
• NVIDIA Southbridge MCP51
• Nvidia geForce Go 7150M up to 559MB Total Graphics Memory with 4096MB system memory (UMA / shared graphics)
• 2 Altec lansing branded Stereo Speakers
• Integrated 10mbps, 100 Mbps
• Integrated Bluetooth
• ExpressCard/54 Slot
• 5-in-1 integrated digital media reader slot
• 101-key compatible keyboard, Touchpad on/off button and dedicated vertical and horizontal scroll up/down pad, 1 quick lanch button
• 2.50kg (5.39Ibs) with 6-cell battery
• Freedos
• 1-year International Limited Warranty
• Free Nylon Carrying Case

The original version came with only 1GB of ram, I upgraded it for one hundreds something making a price of RM2679. I think not bad lor having spec like this for a price below 3k.

Luckily, my previous system (3rd wife) was a AMD system, so basically I have no problem dealing with it. Saving money from paying extra for an Intel, and get a Nvidia geForce 7150 for her instead. But from a desktop to a laptop really a big difference, since the monitor is smaller but longer and the keyboard placement is bit different without the num pad.

Oyah I notice something strange bout my system is that it suppose to have 160GB of space but total space I can see from my disk is only 150Gb. Anyone have an idea where have my 10GB gone to?

Let's take a closer look at her ^^

Nice lappie there jian..

You got all the nice wives..LOL..

Anyway, regarding your confusion, this is what i know. Have it this way, in the computing world, we knows storage by MB. IIRC, 1MB represent 1024Bytes.

Thus, if you are actually buying a 160GB HDD, its actually 160,000 MB / 1024, thus, its only roughly around 156GB. +- a few for the HDD reserved space itself, you are roughly getting around 150GB.

This applies to all storage medium as no one is going to say i am buying a 1024Byte Pendrive. Instead, they call it 1MB Pendrive..

Hope this helps...
