Bali: Barong Dance

Short Annoucement: I'm Employed... :(
________

This is our first station of the trip. A dance play called Barong. The play was about the story of the mystical creature of Bali, the Barong.

Barong was said to be the king of all spirits and the leader of good spirits.

The play was separated in a several chapters but it made not difference because I had no idea which chapters it was in all the time.

The play was in Balinese language and I really had no idea much idea what is going on. A piece of script is given to us but it doesn't really help much.

The Barong dance was rather slow, since the Barong itself moved like a sloth. :| But still it is very cute in some way. (See how cute it lied on the ground :D)

I myself loved mystical creatures or strange looking creature very much. I found those who created or designed them are rather creative :).

If it wasn't for this performer, the whole play would be very boring. He kept on giving funny expressions and actions throughout the play.

He was quite sporting too, and even posed for my camera twice. XD At first, he gave me the first pose but I wasn't ready yet. So I shouted "One More One More" and he turned back and gave me the second one and "KachaK!!. What a nice guy ^^

After a while, out came Monkey Hao's Friend. Seriously, it didn't looked like a Monkey at all. Even our Monkey Hao here looked more like a monkey than him...Even Without A Make-Up!

Do you guys know about Popping Dance? If not, please google...its like robot dance. I asked this because in Bali they start do this popping in the old days even before the creation of hip hop. XD

Hahaha...its actually not really popping but they did lots of pausing in the dance. Its really creepy in my opinion. Especially when they pause their whole body and move only their big eyes around. @@

My friend recorded the dance in her camera :|. I wondered what she gonna do with it? Its way too creepy~

Oh ya, this Rangda fella here is the rival or enemy of Barong. She is the queen of all demon and leads an army of evil witches.

This was one of her form, in another form she wore a black feather cape instead of a white one. But sadly, I didn't manage to take a good shot of it. She was standing way too far from my seat.

Anyway, the two mystical creatures had a fight or two later that. In the end, Rangda lost the battle and fled. (I think...Hahaha )

Okay, I think that's all for my Barong Dance photos, I think its not much. But if you wished to see more of them, you can go to my friends' blog. :) Kimfei and SleepyHao

Bali: Adhi Dharma Hotel

I'm back~~~~
Weee~~~
Anyone miss the cat? XD Hehehe...

____________________

So let's continued with our Bali Trip :). Today, I gonna show you guys some photos of the hotel which I stayed in. Its a hotel named Adhi Dharma Hotel located just behind the Legian Street in Kuta. (the famous bombing area)

There's 19 of us who went to Bali and we had 9 rooms. So in the end, there's one room needed to be shared by 3 person. And this was the room and it was my room too. XD

Not bad right :) ?

It was the second day of the trip, I purposely woke up 6 something in the morning that day just to take a look at the view of Bali.

It seems like sun do rise earlier over there. It was only around 7 and the sky is already very bright. Okay okay, I know I overexposed my photos bit too but the day really was very bright for such a early time.

I noticed another thing. The buildings there were all short. There's no buildings around the place that is more than 3 floors high.

Later that, our guide told us there's a policy to keep all Bali buildings at a max of only 3 floors.

Since my Babi roommates were all sleeping, I went out and took a walk alone around the hotel for some photo shootings.

Here's some of the photos around my room.

Its not really paddy, just a grass field right outside of the hotel which I can viewed from the corridor.

The sky suppose to be blue 1, I overexposed again :P. What a Noobie photographer wannabe

Hmm...the photo seems like lack of something...hmmm... Ohh I know there's no bikini girls!! Hahaha... Its 7 in the morning, I bet they're all still having their beauty sleep.

Saw this statue right next to the pool. She seems like a peaceful lady.

Hehehe..water slide anyone? I wondered why they never build an adult size slide beside the pool.

Woah seems like I'm not the only one who wake up early that day.

Overexposed again

Oyah where's EmoBear? Let's go check whether she' woke up d or not.
Hahaha seems like she's an early bear after all XD

Comic: Wanted Parody

At the mean time... Please enjoy the comic strip I drew few weeks before, right after I watched "WANTED".

It had been a long time since I do a movie related post.

So how about the movie?
Impossible!!! Cheating!!! Haox!!!! (In Hokkien, "eat black money" = impossible)
I meant the stuffs they did inside the movie.

Action wise, but not logic XD hahaha.

You will know what I mean after you watched the movie. :P

Bali: On the Plane with EmoBear

Is everyone ready with the passport? Today we gonna go somewhere special, somewhere far from Malaysia. Ehh..not really far though but at least its the farthest place I ever been to.

I guess you all sure know where's the destination d since I stated it in the post title.

Yeah, I'm going to Bali!! Ehh... not really going to. Actually I already came back from there for a while now. Hehe...

This is my Graduation Trip, a 5 days 4 nights trip. Hmm.. make it 4 days 4 nights since we reached Bali at night on the first day due to the late flight we took.

About the flight, it took a whole 3 hours to travel from LCCT Malaysia to Denpasar International Airport Bali. Normally, a one and a half hour of plane ride on Air Assia between Kuching International Airport and LCCT is already very torturing. I really have no idea how on earth, I gonna survive in this 3 hours ride.

Despite the torturing that I gonna faced, it was very exciting in the other hand as it was my first time to travel out of Malaysia. And I thought my first time will be Singapore which is very close to Malaysia. XD

As for some of my friends, they were more excited than me as it was their first time to ride on a plane.

When we boarded on the plane, everyone rushed and occupied a seat by the window for themselves while those with DSLR went and occupied the seats near the wing instead. XD Hahaha...I dunno why people love to take photos of the sky with the wing. XD Any ideas?

Haha...everyone couldn't stand to waste such a good opportunity to look at the pretty view of our earth and also took some photos of it.

At first I thought the 3 hours plane ride will be torturing but seems like its not because I have a friend to accompany me.

Let me present you, my accompany of the ride, Teddy!!! The Emo Bear!!

Okay, he's busy emoing. Don't wanna bother me. :|

Our friend here is a fan of Air Assia. See he's promoting the Air Assia's Snack Attack Menu. Some more he's wearing Red!! @@ Red = Air Assia Uniform Color!!

Woah the bear is acting cool ~.~ So annoying!!

Lets tortured him!!!!

Oh Gosh.. we made him angry d and he's now emoing over the window.

I think he's not that small-hearted. Maybe he just couldn't wait to reach Bali. XD hahaha

Penang: Tropical Spice Garden

Last post of my last day of my Penang Trip~~~ Thank god, at last I finished it d. Hahaha.

So here's the last location we visited that day, Penang's Tropical Spice Garden. So what do they have there? Spices lor..obviously. You actually can smelled the aroma of the spices right at the information counter. Oh ya there's a payment of few ringgits needed for the entrance fee.

I don't know whether is the side effect from the spices aroma or our friend here is over obsessed with flowers d. Hahaha..

Back to the garden. The garden is kinda big, the girl at the information center told us that we needed about 1 and half hour to finish visiting every single corner of the garden.

The garden itself is divided into 3 sections to visit. The path of the sections are indicated with its own arrow sign. There's a red arrow, an orange arrow and a green arrow.

Honestly speaking, there's nothing much to see there. If you're not a nature lover, just stayed out of it. As for me, I enjoyed the oxygen tank very very much. The air was refreshing, straight from the trees and plants. :D

The only thing I can't stand is the heat. The sun is burning us. Although, the leaves from the trees had block most of the sunlight but its still unable to prevent the heat from coming in.

I suffered the most as I was wearing long sleeves while the others were wearing shirts and singlets. @@ I felt like a roasted cat.

Then we found this big swing in the middle of the garden. Its so big that can actually fit in 4 people. XD Yea, exactly the same amount of people who went to the garden that day.

Before you knew it, we were all swinging on it. XD

I just love the swing, its like an manual cooling machine. Swing, swing, swing and all the heat is gone. XD hahaha

Luckily, our lives didn't gone with the heat that day as well. As we noticed this signboard only after we finished playing with the swing. *WTF*

Miao: If its for 2 person, why on earth they built the swing with such a wide seat ???!!
Siti and Geek: ....... *looking at Nic*
Miao: Ohh okay, I get it now...

Nic: ....... =.= wtf
(p/s: Nic, I'm just joking.. :P)

I like this! I like this!!

Oh ya since its a spice garden so here's a photo of it. Don't ask me what it is. I also have no idea.

Sorry if this post is boring as this spices garden was kinda boring itself. There's nothing much to do beside taking photos under the bright and burning sun and playing with the swing. And everyone is moody as well as we're going to leave Penang soon.

So we basically ended up leaving the places before we could finished exploring and went to the stall opposite of it for a cool and refreshing coconut drink. Hahaha...

Updated:
More photos as requested..

_____________

So basically that's all for my Penang Trip. I think it will be a very long time before I went visiting Penang again. See ya then~~~

And here, I would like to thanks to Nic for the car and the driving, Siti and Geek for sleeping all the way during the ride, and lastly Cedric and Yung for the Penang Information Hotline Service. :) And Oh ya my parents for the financial support :P.

So what's next in my coming post? All I can say is that prepare your passport, we're going to somewhere away from Malaysia~~~

Stay tuned. :D

Penang: DimSum Breakfast with Cedric

After a week of comic strip, its time to get back to my Penang Photo Trip~ :D Ya, its not over yet, still have 2 more posts to go. :P

Anyway, its our second day in Penang and the last day as well. So before we depart to somewhere interesting, we went and had our breakfast.

Our Maria, the Driver.

And again, we had Dim Sum. Some may asked why Dim Sum again since we had Seafood DimSum on our first day breakfast. I also don't want 1, but we had no choice, our sheep here, Nic wanted to have it ever since she missed the breakfast yesterday.

There are three things that are differed it from the previous Dim Sum breakfast.

_________________

First, we had more steamed DimSum than fried 1 that we had in the previous Dim Sum meal.
Crispy Dumpling Skin.

Steamed meat with Fish fin.
Can't taste the jelly fin also.

A must order dish in Dim Sum
Personally, I like Siu Mai a lot, it is the nearest Dim Sum that resembles Kuching's Sio Bee.

Artificial Colouring~~

Prawn~~~ My Third Favorite Seafood.
Who can guess what's my first and second favorite seafood? Anyone?

_________________

Second, we ordered more Egg tarts to prevent Tigress Siti to finish every last of it (refer here). But too bad that it was not as good as the one Siti had in the previous breakfast.

_________________

Third, we had it at a different shop :P.... This shop is located just right behind the Umno building iin Penang. Why? Because we had a guest that morning.

Let's me present you... One of Penang Blogger.... Cedric!!!!! *Applause Applause*

An interesting and cool guy, I must say. Very good in telling story and very funny as well. I was like laughing most of the time. Wait...Comes to think bout it, the only thing I did was laughing and smiling. Lol!!

What to do... I'm very quiet in person so basically my buddies (Siti,Nic and Geek) were the one talking to him. Even though, they all only knew him that time. Hahaha...

Its a Crime

Sorry for the lack of updates these few days. I was not at home on these time. I went over to Kuala Lumpur on Thursday for 2 days.

And yesterday I spent my whole Saturday lining up at Mahkota Parade Malacca just for the Summer 8tv Concert Ticket. @@ It will be another story for another day.

Today, the story is about a crime that I did in KL. I went over KL last yesterday and meet up with some of my friends there for a dinner at 1utama and drink at the Look Out Point!!

Its a crime for not bringing my camera everywhere I go.

The scenery of KL city was very very beautiful from there~~~

About going over to KL, some of my friends will asked isn't that I went there for an interview? The answer is No. I don't have an interview there or anywhere else.. Sad case.

I was just accompanied my friend, Monkey Hao since he had some stuffs to be settled over there.

SunMiaoKong: Jealousy Kills

There's a saying "jealousy kills" in relationships... No matter its in friendship, love or family... there's a common point...someone will be killed.

The question is who will be killed. The one who jealous or the one who is jealous by?

The ending of this comic strip is on the banner.

Miao is jealous of this. And this is where my idea of this layout came from :).

_______________
Explanation: For those who don't understand, this is a sequel of my previous SunMiaoKong episode.

From the previous episode, the legendary Monkey King (Sun Wu Kong) was able to create a vast monkey army using his hairs.

And our Sun Miao Kong here followed him and tried but he failed to produce even a single warrior and ended up went bald plucking all his hair. So he was very jealous of the Monkey King's superiority and ability.

SunMiaoKong: Hair Manipulation

Hahaha...it had been some time since I post SunMiaoKong d.. so here, enjoy my 3rd comic on SunMiaoKong~~ :)

According to the story, the Monkey King, Sun Wu Kong was able to manipulate his hair into monkey warriors with just a single blow.

With this ability, he was able to call forth an unbeatable army of hairy monkeys.

I like this pic very much XD especially the Monkey King

It seems like out SunMiaoKong is very very interested in this skill as well. XD
"Botak" = Bald

But too bad, the fake hero has no talent at all.

Penang: Sunset at Batu Ferringhi Beach

Welcome to the end of the first day of my Penang Trip.. :)

After visiting so many places (Seafood DimSum, Fort Cornwallis 1 + 2, Kek Lok Si Temple 1 + 2, and the Water Dam) and so many funny things in between ( Big2, Holy Water), we finished the day off at the Batu Ferringhi Beach.

Luckily, we're arrived in time before the sun sets.

There were lots of water activities on the beach and the fellas got their eyes on this... Since the girls didn't brought any additional clothes and this is the only dry activity there..

And so our gliders got in their equipments and ready to go..

and they're go.. one by one...
I didn't went for the para-gliding as I need to take pretty photos of them in the sky...
Okay, there's other reason...

Where will my face and pride be, if my fella cats friends found out I'm saved by a Life "Dog" Guard. A cat saved by a dog @@

Honestly, its too expensive for a poor guy liked me to play.

When they got down from the sky, they were just in time for the sunset. This is my first time taking photos of a sunset using my 400D. :) so if not nice don't kill me ar, but comments and critics are very welcome. Hehe

The girls are addicted to the Jumping shots previously. Now they wanna do another sunset silhouette version one. And here they go again.. =.= not tired 1 meh?

I, myself playing with the sun instead.

Wakakaka, the power of the sun in the palm of my hand!!! Now, who dares disobeyed me??!! *syok sendiri* (self-excited).

Anyway, anyone out there wanna buy this sun? So I can get myself either a lens, a flash or maybe a domain for miao. :P Hehehe

Phew, at last, after 5 weeks, I managed to finish my first day of Penang trip. :P

Penang: Water Dam

After leaving the temple, we kinda regret for leaving without taking enough photos since its such a rare chance to able to go to Penang. So we ended up turn the car around and drove back to the temple.

And again, we drove passed the entrance to the temple and went up to the hill top instead :|. (This time not my fault d, since its Nic's turn to drive XD).

But the wrong turn ended up into a right turn and gave us a big surprise. XD One big surprise!

The turn ended up with an unexpected finding, a big lake on top of Penang Hill. Awesome!! It was very huge ler.. We all went woahh and woahh.. since it wasn't in our plan or anything. Wasn't anything we're expected.

Its actually a man made lake. To be exact it is a damn... a damp... Okay its a dam, I spelled it wrong :P. So please ignore my Dam(p) in my photo.

Posing and acting cute at the same time XD. Wahaha... Don't vomit okay, give the cat some face ler.. :P meow~~

After admiring the view of the big lake, we decided to have a walk on the dam.

But the day was very very hot and some more the dam is so long, we give up walking to the end even before reaching the center of the dam wall.

So we took some photos at the spot. Then suddenly I though of trying something famous for a change...the famous SmashJumps. The shot was not easy at all. We took a couple of shots just to get the right jump with the right pose.

In the end, we were all sweating, tiring and overheating from the multi jumping shots. Even tired than walk to the end of the dam. Hahaha...thanks to my own suggestion =.=

And they thanked me too.... =.= (Its a Dam & a YOU...)

After those tiring "exercise", we went down to hill for a nice hot Penang Laksa~~ the famous Air Itam Penang Laksa~~ yum yum~~

(I still prefer the one near the Girls Middle School though...)
